On Friday December 28, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, accompanied by Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, visited renovated boarding school # 1, which is the country’s largest boarding school for orphans and children from vulnerable families.
The head of state congratulated teachers and pupils on the New Year and gave festive presents to the pupils, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Besides, warm winter clothes were distributed to the children on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon.
Based in Dushanbe, boarding school # 1 consists of three education buildings. 6.8 million somoni have reportedly been spent for renovation of this boarding school.
The school is provided with 30 electronic blackboards, 65 computers and eleven notebooks, the president’s website says, noting that 76 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed at the boarding school.
Meanwhile, local entrepreneur Mahmoudjon Murodov reportedly plans to build a water pool, modern dormitory for teachers and refrigerating chamber for storing food products.
Boarding school # 1 is home for 550 children, including 33 children who have lost both parents, 38 children of single dads, 225 children of single mothers, and 10 homeless children.
Fifty-five teachers, including forty-one women, now work with boarding-school # 1, the president’s website said.
