Tajik school students have reportedly won twenty-two medals at INFOMATRIX 2019, an international computer project competition that took place in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, from April 20 to April 24.

According to information posted on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science, Tajikistan was represented by twenty-eight school student at the competition.

They have won four gold, six silver and twelve bronze medals at INFOMATRIX 2019, the website says. 

Students from Dushanbe-based Presidential Lyceum for talented Children reportedly won 10 medals, students International Presidential School – 6 medals, students from private school named after Abdurahmon Jomi – 4 medals, and students from Dushanbe International School – 2 medals.       

In all, 1016 school students from 46 countries of the world participated in the international computer project competition in Bucharest this year.    

Since the beginning of this year, Tajik school students have reportedly participated in ten international Olympiads and won 131 medals (32 gold, 23 silver and 76 bronze medals), which is 53 medals more than over the same period last year.  

Organized by Lumina Educational Institutions Foundation, INFOMATRIX is an international computer project-based competition, born from a desire to bring the world's best IT students together.

The competition is not just about promoting professional excellence; it also serves to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation, through the involvement of students and teachers from all around the world.
