Tajikistan’s first ever bike festival, dubbed Sogdiana 2019, will take place in the northern Sughd province from July 5-7. 

“Organized by Tajik Bike Club Irbis MCC and NextView Company under support of the Sughd regional administration, the festival is expected to bring together bikers from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and other countries of the near abroad,” Foris Nourmuhamedov, the deputy head of the Irbis MCC Club, told Asia-Plus in an interview.  

The festival will take place in the city of Guliston (formerly Qairoqqum), on the shore of Tajik Sea (the reservoir powering the Qairoqqum hydropower plant).  

A bike parade that will be held from the sanatorium of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) to the Ismoili Somoni Monument will open the festival.

A number of cultural and sports activities will be carried out during the international bike festival in Sughd province.  

The musical program will be provided by Monday Beat group of Temursho Immatshoyev, DJ Jova and other invited musicians.
