The national casting for TV format talent show, dubbed Central Asia’s Got Talent, is going on in Dushanbe. The casting is taking place at the Opera and Ballet Theater.

Hundreds of youth from all regions of the country have arrived in Dushanbe for participating in the casting.

In Tajikistan, the casting process is carried out by Asia-Plus Media Group in conjunction with Tajik National TV Channel Safina.  Mobile Phone Operator Megafon Tajikistan is the general partner.

The Astana Times noted in April that the show is organized by Central Asia’s Got Talent Show General Producer Serik Akishev, Kertayev (Kazakhstan), KTRK Broadcasting Corporation Producer Kanatbek Kultayev (Kyrgyzstan), TV Safina International Department head Nargis Kassimova (Tajikistan) and Zo’r TV Channel Producer Timur Aliyev (Uzbekistan).

According to The Astana Times, Ms. Kassimova and Mr. Kertayev noted at the Central Commissions Service press center on April 9 that the project is targeted towards strengthening cultural and spiritual integration among the Central Asian nations.

“It allows all our countries to unite in this cultural space.  The project’s main feature is that it has no limitations, neither in gender nor in age of participants. We are really excited about this project – its bright emotions and performances,” said Ms. Kassimova.

Got Talent, created by Simon Cowell, is co-owned by British companies Fremantle and Syco Entertainment. The show was first aired in the United States in June 2006 as America’s Got Talent and licensing for the format has subsequently been purchased in more than 70 countries. In April 2014, the format was named the world's most successful reality TV format ever by the Guinness World Records, as at the time it was broadcast in 58 countries.

As of April 2019, Got Talent has reportedly spawned spin-offs in over 70 countries.
