Tajikistan’s political parties have joined the fight against the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

The ruling People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDPT), which is led by President Emomali Rahmon, has reportedly volunteered 300,000 somoni to the republican anti-coronavirus war chest.

Besides, the PDPT leadership has ordered its organizations in the regions to provide all kinds of support to health workers conducting fights against COVID-19 and nationals of the country facing socioeconomic problems, a source within the PDPT told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The Agrarian Party of Tajikistan (APT) yesterday sent humanitarian aid to seven districts across the country.

According to APT leader Rustam Latifzoda, the assistance included food products and medicines.

The APT has also provided one-time financial assistance to poor families in seven cities and districts of Tajikistan, Latifzoda added.
