81 new cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in Tajikistan over the past day, bringing a total number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 4,690 as of the evening of June 8.

2,815 COVID-19 patients (+52 people) have reportedly recovered as of the evening of June 9, 2020.  

No coronavirus-linked deaths were reported on June 8, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP),  

The number of COVID-19-related deaths reportedly remains the same in Tajikistan – 48.   

Meanwhile the list of the COVID-19-related deaths posted on the kvtj.info website is being updated every day.

As of June 9, 426 COVID-19-linked deaths have been on this list.  Most of the names on this list have been confirmed by moderators.

The list includes names of 64 health workers who died from the new coronavirus disease.

Recall, bazaars, cafes, beauty salons, hairdressing saloons, barber's shops, hotels, trade centers, public caterings and resort centers are expected to resume operations in Tajikistan starting on June 15.     

Although quarantine has not been officially declared in Tajikistan, the Republican Commission for Preventing Further Spread of COVID-19 in Tajikistan has decided that face masks are mandatory for people in Tajikistan who go out in public during the coronavirus pandemic.
