260 emergencies have been reported in the northern Sughd provinces over the first six months of this year, Colonel Bahrom Dodiyon, the chief of the Sughd emergency management agency, noted at a meeting to review the results of work carried out by the agency over the report period, according to Sughd emergency management agency press center. 

According to him, emergencies have left 64 dead in the province over the report period.  The press center, however, did not specify as of result of what emergencies those 6 people died.

In January-June this year, emergencies have reportedly caused nearly 43 million somoni worth of damage to the Sughd province, which was 30 million somoni more than in the same period last year.  

The worst damage has reportedly been from snow falling on the night of April 8-9 (more than 32 million somoni worth of damage) and torrential rain hitting the Mastchoh district on April 29 (nearly 8.5 million somoni worth of damage).
