Beginning on September 1, old-age and employment pensions will be raised by 15 percent, while  disability pensions will be raised by 50 percent, Dilmurod Davlatzoda, Director of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions under the Government of Tajikistan, told reporters in Dushanbe on July 21. 

According to him, they also plan to index pensions by 8 percent this year.

The current average monthly pension in Tajikistan amounts to 303.00 somoni (equivalent to 29.44 USD).

Recall, President Emomali Rahmon on December 26, 2019 ordered to raise wages of employees of federally funded institutions as well as pensions and student grants by 10-15 percent from September 1, 2020.  

Wages for law enforcement officers and military personnel are supposed to be raised by 10 percent.

Wages for employees of federally funded institutions as well as pensions and allowances (scholarships) for students will be raised by 15 percent. 

Besides, pensions of people with disabilities under the age of 18 disabled as well not working people with disabilities and a group of people having a disability and needing care will be raised by 50 percent.
