One more COVID-19 patient died in Tajikistan yesterday, bringing a total number of the novel coronavirus-linked deaths in the country to 69, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP).

36 new officially confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Tajikistan yesterday, bringing a total number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 8,619 as of the evening of September 1, a MoHSPP said. 

7,413 (83.8 percent) COVID-19 patients have reportedly recovered as of the evening of September 1, 2020.  

Besides, more than 1,000 people in Tajikistan have reportedly been treating COVID-19 at home under supervision of family doctors.

Meanwhile, according to COVID-19 data provided by Worldmeter, coronavirus cases around the globe have been reported at 25,904,164 since China reported its first cases to the World Health Organization (WHO) in December.  Of them, 18,196,019 have recovered and 861,251 have died.

CNN says the US continues to lead the world in total coronavirus cases with more than 6 million infections.  At least 37 states are reporting positive Covid-19 cases at colleges or universities, making a total of more than 25,000 cases among students and campus staff. 

The United States is followed by Brazil and India.
