Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) has opened its first faculty in Tajikistan.

A signing ceremony that was held today online via the ZOOM platform was reportedly attended by Rahimjon Hakimov, Rector of TSUL, Mumin Sharifzoda, Rector of Tajikistan State University of Law, Business & Politics (TSULBP), and other representatives of TSULB&P.

According to TSUL’s official website, the following faculty is considered to be the first faculty of Tashkent State University of Law abroad.

The main purpose of its establishment is, as indicated in the concept of development of higher education system until 2030, the transformation of the higher education system of Uzbekistan into a “hub” for the implementation of international educational programs in Central Asia, attracting foreign students and investment in Uzbekistan, ensuring the entrance of the Tashkent State University of Law into international rankings.

Citizens of Tajikistan and other foreign countries can apply for this joint faculty.  Teaching is conducted in English and Russian languages in accordance with international standards.

Training is facilitated within the framework of the bilateral diploma program carried out at the first stage of higher education “bachelor’s degree” “3+1” and in the specialty “master’s degree” “1+1”. After completing successfully, students receive two diplomas from the Tashkent State University of Law and Tajik State University of Law, Business & Politics.

At the end of the event, Tashkent State University of Law and Tajikistan State University of Law, Business and Politics reportedly signed an agreement on the establishment of a foreign faculty and its Regulations, and also agreed to further enhanced cooperation between two universities.

Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) is a public higher educational institution.  It is one of the leading Uzbek legal research centers, located in the capital city Tashkent.

The university is one of the leading universities in Uzbekistan, renowned as a national center of legal science and education, the prestige is widespread locally, extends far beyond the borders of the Republic, as well.

The university comprises 12 specialized and 3 general-studies departments, a center of professional legal training and career development based on international standards, a specialized branch for training and retraining of legal personnel in the sphere of crime prevention, public security and Academic Lyceum. Moreover, the university also provides methodological guidance and coordination of 14 professional law colleges that are part of the system of educational institutions of the Ministry of Justice of The Republic of Uzbekistan.

TSUL is under the authority of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan. Therefore, the rector of the university is the Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, as well.

Tajikistan State University of Law, Business, & Politics (TSULBP) is one of several state-funded, five-year institutions of higher education in Sughd province.

Located in Khujand, the university is composed of six faculties, three educational buildings and eleven educational laboratories. 

TSULBP offers four-year bachelor's and five-year master's degrees as well as post graduate courses in the fields of law, economics, political science, philosophy, history, and mathematics.  In addition, TSULBP offers part-time courses.
