Tajik Ambassador to the Russian Federation Imomuddin Sattorov paid a working visit to Novosibirsk, during which he held talks with Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Andrei Travnikov, according to the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.
During the meeting, he reportedly introduced new Tajik Consul General Yatim Davlatkhoja.
In the course of the talks, the parties exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan’s regions and Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast.
The parties reportedly expressed interest in resumption of active cooperation between the regions of the two countries in the fields of economics, labor migration, education, and culture.
Ambassador Sattorov also held talks with Novosibirsk Mayor Anatoly Lokot. They reportedly discussed issues related to recruitment of Tajik labor migrants for work in Novosibirsk.
Tajik diplomat proposed to hold joint business forums in Novosibirsk and Dushanbe in order to promote intensification of trade and economic cooperation and attraction of investments.
Sattorov also held a meeting with heads of Tajik Diasporas in Siberia and Far East Federal Districts to discuss issues related to participation of Tajik Diasporas in expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, problem facing Tajik labor migrants working in the area, resumption of air traffic, and learn Tajik for children of fellow countrymen living in Siberia and Far East Federal Districts.
