Media reports say Israel and Iran have broadened their strikes against each other as the conflict between the two nations enters its fourth day, in an escalating war that has killed and injured hundreds of people.

The Guardian reports that Israeli officials say several people have been injured in the latest round of Iranian strikes on early Monday.

In Iran, Israeli strikes have reportedly killed 224 people so far, with 90% of the casualties reported to be civilians, an Iranian health ministry spokesperson said.

In Israel, Iranian strikes in recent days have killed at least 14 people, with three missing and hundreds injured by Sunday morning, according to The Guardian

CNN reports that the deadly conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its fourth day, with both sides firing new waves of missiles overnight amid international pleas for diplomacy and de-escalation. Iran’s early Monday strikes have hit an Israeli oil refinery and damaged part of the power grid.

The Jerusalem Post reports that despite sustained Israeli airstrikes, Iran has managed to continue launching ballistic missiles - a feat that can be attributed to the Islamic Republic's long-standing military doctrine, decentralized infrastructure, and upgraded survivability tactics.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) assessments, Iran reportedly began the current conflict with approximately 2,000 ballistic missiles of varying ranges and warhead types.  These posed a threat to Israeli territory via a few hundred launch systems.

Through its proxies, Iran once dominated the Middle East. After October 7 and the current war with Iran, the Islamic Republic's position in the Middle East might shift, The Jerusalem Post noted.

Iran’s foreign ministry has challenged Israel’s characterization of what it has described as ‘surgical’ strikes in Tehran, saying that many women and children have been killed in residential areas.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency says the intelligence chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Kazemi, and his deputy were killed in Israel’s attacks on Tehran on Sunday.

IRNA said yesterday that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has urged Islamic countries to take collective action against escalating violations of international law by Israel.

During a phone conversation with Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on Sunday, Araqchi reportedly thanked him for condemning Israel’s military aggression against Iran.

Araqchi said the aggression was a blatant breach of international law and the U.N. Charter, and poses grave threats to regional and global stability, adding that it underscores the danger of impunity.

“This impunity encourages further aggression and crimes,” he warned.

He also reaffirmed Iran’s right to self-defense, stressing that the Armed Forces are ready to defend the country’s sovereignty.

For his part, the OIC secretary-general voiced deep concern over Israel’s attacks and condemned the military escalation.

He said the OIC would work with the United Nations to mobilize international support and prevent the region from descending further into instability.

IRNA reported yesterday that a new salvo of missiles and drones has been launched at targets in Israel amid continued Israeli aggression on Iran.

As with previous rounds, and despite heavy Israeli censorship, footage reportedly began to appear of the Iranian missiles hitting their intended targets.

Israeli media said a Rafael Advanced Defense Systems facility and Ben Gurion Airport had been hit, IRNA says, noting that shortly later, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (I.R.G.C.) in a press release confirmed the new wave of the punitive strikes.
