The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russian may reach 6.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2008, said Viktor Zubkov, the Deputy Chairman of Russian and the co-chairman of the Turkmen – Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation speacking at the reception in Turkmenistan Embassy in Russian on November 5.
The turnover increase explained by relaization of large joint projects in energy sphere, as well as high interest of Russian businesses in Turkmen markets, explained Zubkov.
"Conclusion of construction of Turkmen – Russian secondary school named after Pushkin and construction of the branch University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin speaks for increase of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia in humanitarian sphere," said Zubkov.
