DUSHANBE, December 8, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Drug Control Agency (DCA) today burned more than 180 kilograms of drugs, including 123 kilograms of raw opium and nine kilograms of heroin.
A source at counternarcotics agency said that the burnt drugs had been confiscated this year and were material evidences on drug-related criminal proceedings. The drugs were destroyed in the presence of a special commission consisting of representatives from the law enforcement agencies and judicial bodies of the country.
According to the source, it was the tenth such burning this year. “In all, the counternarcotics agency has destroyed some 1,500 kilograms of drugs this year,” the source said.
