KHUJAND, December 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajik civil aviation authorities have granted Russia air company, RusLine, permission to operate flights from the Russian city of Volgograd to the Tajik northern city of Khujand, the administrative center of Sughd province.
Oybek Dadaboyev the deputy director general of Khujand International Airport, told Asia-Plus Tuesday afternoon that RusLine will be the tenth Russian air carrier to operate flights to northern Tajikistan. “To-date, nine Russian air companies, namely Russia, Sibir, Tatarstan, Donavia, Taimair, Ural Airlines, Orenburg Airlines, Utair and Yakutia have operated flights to Khujand,” Dadaboyev said.
RusLine is an airline based in the Omega Plaza business centre in Moscow, Russia. It operates scheduled flights out of its bases Domodedovo International Airport, Yekaterinburg Airport, Krasnodar International Airport and Volgograd International Airport.
The airline originally had its hub at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. On April 1, 2010, it took over the fleet and most routes of bankrupt Air Volga, as well as the latter''s base at Volgograd Airport and shifted its Moscow business to Domodedovo Airport.
As of August 2011, the RusLine fleet consists of three Bombardier CRJ100s, eight Bombardier CRJ200s, and four Embraer EMB120s.
