DUSHANBE, March 5, 2013, Asia-Plus -- By Tajik central bank’s resolution new banknotes in denominations of 20, 50 and 100 somoni with additional levels of protection were introduced into circulation in Tajikistan on March 5.
According to the press center of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the new banknotes have a new laser component of protection; the last three figures of the serial number are laser etched.
The banknotes with additional levels of protection will be in circulation equally with other banknotes in denominations of 20, 50 and 100 somoni that were issued in 1999, the source said.
