DUSHANBE, March 14, 2013, Asia-Plus -- A forum for representatives of the business communities of Tajikistan and Austria took place in Dushanbe on March 13.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajikistan had worked out more than 400 investment projects and called on Austrian entrepreneurs to participate in implementation of those projects.
Tajik leader stressed that it was necessary to take into consideration increasing demands of Afghanistan and Pakistan while developing the plan of cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria.
For his part, Austrian President Heinz Fischer, reportedly, noted that Tajikistan had a good potential for economic development and called on Austrian businesspeople to expand cooperation with Tajikistan.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, two documents were signed during the forum – a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Tajik State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Tajikaeronavigatsiya (Tajik air navigation) and Austria’s Frequentis AG (Austrian-based leader in air traffic control (ATC) voice communication) and a memorandum of understanding on establishment of scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Tajikistan and Austria’s ASKINDC.
Yesterday, visiting Austrian President Heinz Fischer also held talks with Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov. The sides reportedly discussed issues related to expansion bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
