DUSHANBE, March 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – More than 40 enterprises producing sand and road metal have been reintroduced into operation in Tajikistan after standing idle during the past winter, the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) press center reports.
In all, there are 64 enterprises engaged in production of sand and road metal in the country, but their operations are seasonal.
Due to good weather conditions, 41 enterprises resumed their operations in late February and they have reportedly produced 55,200 cubic meters of sand and road metal so far.
Five other enterprises for production of sand and road metals are expected to be constructed in Tajikistan this year. These enterprises will create 65 new jobs, the source said.
