DUSHANBE, March 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – The Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s Country Strategic Partnership Program for Tajikistan for next five years was the focus of a meeting of senior representatives of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) with the ADB representatives, according to the CCI press center.

The sides reportedly considered issues related to exposing the main obstacles in the way of economic development of Tajikistan and providing support to the Tajik Government in drawing medium-term plans of economic development.

The CIS deputy chairperson, Ms. Larisa Kislyakova, informed the ADB representatives of activities of the CCI and its role in attracting investments and finding partners for domestic entrepreneurship.

ADB''s country partnership strategy supports Tajikistan in tackling its most critical development constraints focusing on inclusive growth.  ADB''s key strength has been its continued focus on transport and energy sectors within a regional cooperation context.

ADB''s program in Tajikistan will continue supporting regional cooperation and the energy and transport sectors, while providing policy support for improving the investment climate.
