Dushanbe. 26 August. “Asia-Plus” – The Russian sanitary services still has claims about the state of trains arriving from Tajikistan.

Gennadiy Onishenko, the Head of Russian Consumer Supervision (RCS) and Russia’s Chief Medical Officer, said on Firday: “There are still questions towards the Tajik side. Work is going on, but it is not enough.”

According to him, after Russia had claims, Tajikistan bought 16 new train cars. Mr. Onishenko added: “It is good. However, this is only one train, but there are 10 of them. All the others must be replaced or repaired. It will probably be more expensive to repair than to buy new ones.”

The Head of RCS stated: “We are continuing to monitor, but we will be stricter.”

Tajik Railroad Company continues to acquire new cars after the April incident with a Tajik train.

According to the Tajik Railroad, 165 cars and 3 locomotives of Bryansk factory have been acquired. 150 freight cars and 15 passenger cars have been bought in this period.

22 freight and 7 passenger trains have been repaired fully by the repair companies of the Tajik Railroad.

New equipment is expected to be bought by the end of the year, depending on the company’s financial capacity.

Currently, the Tajik Railroad fleet consists of 2 thousand 269 freight and 436 passenger cars, as well as 56 locomotives.
