DUSHANBE, August 29, 2013, Asia-Plus –Sangtouda-1 Power Plant Company reported to Asia-Plus that the working commission signed the Act on Acceptance of Sangtouda-1 Power Plant into Usage with a capacity of 670 Megawatts.
According to the source, the working commission, which includes representatives of the customer (Sangtouda Power Plant Company), projecting, construction, and installers, government structures, health, environmental, and other structures, reached the conclusion that the facility is in line with all sanitary-epidemiological, environmental, fire, building regulations and national standards.
A source in the Company said: “construction and operational spillway tunnel, terminal building, stone and earthen dam, power plant water intake, penstocks, power house, hydro, hydro turbine equipment, outdoor switchgear 220 kV and other objects are among the objects put into work in Sangtouda -1 Power Plant.”
Act signing of the State Acceptance Commission is planned for November of this year.
Sangtouda-1 Power Plant Company is a joint Russian-Tajik venture created in 2005 with the aim of finishing the construction and further usage of the power plant on Vakhsh River. The capacity -of Sangtouda-1 is 670 M-Watts.
Launch of the first hydraulic unit was held on 20 January, 2008. Official opening of the power plant with four hydraulic units was held on 31 July, 2009.
Sangtouda-1 has approximately 15 percent of power generation in Tajikistan.
