KHUJAND, March 16, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The prosecutor’s office in the Ayni district, Siughd province has instituted criminal proceedings against Nodirqul Tarahasanov, the principal of school # 4 in the Ayni district, under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – Article 257 (embezzlement of humanitarian aid) and Article 323 (service forgery).
According to the Sughd police directorate, the preliminary investigation has established that Nodirqul Tarahasanov on August 27, 2009 embezzled 1000 kilograms of wheat flour, 132 liters of vegetable oil and 325 kilograms of peas provided to the mentioned school by the UNDP CO in Tajikistan.
“Last year, Tarahasanov also misappropriated 78 sacks of wheat flour (totaling some 3,950 kilograms), more than 400 liters of vegetable oil, 48 kilograms of salt and 31 kilograms of peas, submitting forged vouchers to representatives of the UNDP in the Ayni district,” the source said.
