Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA reported on Thursday that the ambassadors of Iran and Qatar to Tajikistan have stressed the importance of continued cooperation among Islamic countries to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip “in the face of brutalities by the Zionist regime.”
Iran’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Alireza Haghighian and his Qatari counterpart Mubarak bin Abdulrahman Al-Nasr met in Dushanbe on October 26 to discuss the Gaza war.
They reportedly stressed that Islamic countries should continue cooperation in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, “which has been the target of near-constant Israeli airstrikes since October 7.”
The regime has also imposed a total blockade on the coastal enclave.
The Thursday talks were reportedly the latest in a series of negotiations the Iranian ambassador has held with his counterparts from Islamic countries over the Gaza war.
The negotiations are part of Iran’s diplomatic efforts to back the Palestinians in the besieged territory, according to IRNA.
