A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place on February 28.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the head of the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy reported on the current state of land resources in the country, distribution of lands of agricultural designation by value categories, and use of lands in Tajikistan.  

The head of the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy, in particular, noted that 6,960,741 hectares of agricultural lands are currently used in Tajikistan.

Agricultural irrigated land was reported a7 9.7 percent (681,413 hectares).  

Agricultural irrigated land refers to agricultural areas purposely provided with water, including land irrigated by controlled flooding.

The session today also seconded proposals to rename a number of settlements subordinated to the cities of Isfara and Konibodom as well as in the Bobojon-Ghaforuov district.  

The sessions also endorsed government’s draft resolutions on the program for socioeconomic development of Dushanbe in 2018-2020, national patriotic education program designed for 208-2022, and the national tourism development program designed for 2018-2020.
