DUSHANBE, March 15, 2011, Asia-Plus - An annual meeting to discuss issues related to border security and cooperation in Central Asia under the auspices of the Central Asia Border Security Initiative (CABSI) has opened in Dushanbe today.
Organized by the Border Management in Central Asia (BOMCA) program, which is one of the largest European Union assistance programs in Central Asia and implemented by UNDP, the meeting has brought together delegates from Central Asia, Europe, the United States, Russia, China as well as OSCE, IOM, UNODC and other interested parties.
The meeting participants are discussing cooperation between Central Asia’s countries and international partners, regional trade promotion issues as well as border management standards and procedures.
