DUSHANBE, October 22, 2013, Asia-Plus -- People in Tajikistan are mostly worried about the problems of employment, wage and pension rates, and labor migration, the Communist Party (CPT) candidate for president, Ismoil Talbakov, said.
According to him, people are also seriously concerned over rising corruption among officials and ask to toughen measures against this evil.
Ismoil Talbakov, who is currently in the northern Sughd province to hold meetings with voters, stressed that entrepreneurs in the provinces complain that local authorities make them finance the so-called charitable events. “They say the forced charity has bankrupted many entrepreneurs in the regions,” Talbakov said.
“Besides, many entrepreneurs complain about the country’s tax legislation and unfounded inspections carried out by tax officers,” the CPT candidate for president said.
According to the majority of voters, a new tax code adopted last year did not lessen tax burden on entrepreneurs; on contrary, it increased the tax burden on entrepreneurs and many entrepreneurs have been forces to curtail their activities, Talbakov added.
