DUSHANBE, October 7, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The veteran Iranian diplomat Ashraf Ali Mojtahed Shabestari, who was the first Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Tajikistan, will participate in the next meeting of the Public Foundation “Dialogue of Civilizations” that will take place at the Poytakht Business Center in Dushanbe on October 9.
“Dr. Ashraf Ali Mojtahed Shabestari, who served as Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ambassador to Tajikistan in 1992-1997, will share his view the first years of Tajikistan’s independence as well as state and prospects of further development of Tajikistan,” Professor Ibrohim Usmonov, who heads the Public Foundation “Dialogue of Civilizations,” told Asia-Plus in an interview.
In his career records, Mojtahed Shabestari also served as Iran’s ambassador to the UN headquarters in Geneva in the 1980s, head of the Foreign Ministry''s Finance Department, and head of the Center for Political Studies'' International Department.
