A team from Tajikistan has won the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2023 in the ‘Art and Technology’ nomination.

According to information posted on their Instagram, comics NASS made by Tajik team within the framework of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2023 has won in the ‘Art and Technology’ nomination.

8000 teams from 192 countries, totaling 58,000 people, participated in this hackathon.

“We represented Tajikistan and for the first time in 12 years of existence of this hackathon, with a record number of participants worldwide, Tajikistan won!” they say.

NASA Space Apps, in collaboration with NASA Transform to Open Science (TOPS), announced the 2023 NASA International Space Apps Challenge theme: “Explore Open Science Together.”  Last year’s theme reportedly celebrated the benefits and successes created through the equitable and open sharing of knowledge and data.

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge is a hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and innovators around the world to come together and use open data from NASA and its Space Agency Partners to create solutions to challenges we face on Earth and in space.

Space Apps provides a platform for problem solvers worldwide to use free and open data from NASA and its Space Agency Partners.  Space Apps Challenge teams use these resources to solve challenges written by NASA experts, featuring topics ranging from storytelling to software development, astrophysics, space exploration, and more.
