The number of confirmed swine flu infections has reached 275,000 with more than 3,500 deaths worldwide, Russia''s consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor reported on Monday citing the World Health Organization.
"By September 13, 2009, the number of confirmed A/H1N1 infections stood at 274,896 with 3,555 deaths," the statement says.
According to the latest data, 319 people have been diagnosed with of A/H1N1 virus in Russia. Most of infections are among people who recently returned from trips abroad.
Russia began clinical tests of a live swine flu vaccine in the northwest city of St. Petersburg on September 10.
