DUSHANBE , April 26, Asia-Plus - An international two-day conference formally titled “Globalization and Issues of Preservation of National Culture” will open in Dushanbe on April 27.   

The conference is staged by the “Arts and Culture” Program of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) in cooperation with the Center “Culturology” (Culture Studies), established in 2005 under support of the “Arts and Culture” Program, and Tajikistan’s Center for Strategic Studies.  

According to information from the OSI/AF Tajik Branch, the conference participants include researchers from Tajikistan , Iran , Afghanistan and Uzbekistan .  The conference is aiming to consider issues related to introduction of Tajikistan to international tendencies and national arts’ joining intentional arts community as well as preservation of national and original natures in arts and folk culture.  

Participants at the meting are also supposed to discuss issues of globalization and problems of musical culture, preservation of arts and written heritage, cultures of ethnic minorities, etc.  

On results of the conference a collection of articles will be published for further distribution to the country’s higher educational institutions and public libraries.
