DUSHANBE, June 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov will arrive in Dushanbe on June 23 to attend Days of Culture of Moscow that will be held in the Tajik capital from June 23-25.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for Dushanbe mayor, said that Russian artistes to participate in the events are arriving in Dushanbe on the night of June 22-23.
Mayor Luzhkov is expected to arrive in Dushanbe at 4:00 p.m. A photo show entitled “Traveling around Moscow” will open at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex on the sidelines of an official opening of the Days of Culture that will be held in the afternoon of June 23.
On June 24, the Moscow guests will visit the National Museum of History and Culture named after Kamoliddin Behzod and meet with the command of the Russian military base deployed in Tajikistan.
Tuesday morning, at 11:00 a.m., Yuri Luzhkov will hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon and a roundtable meeting on development of libraries will be held at the City Lohouti Library the same time. The same day afternoon, the Moscow delegation will meet with teaching staff at Russian-Tajik Slavic University, visit the Poytakht Palace and get acquainted with a progress of construction of the residential building Poytakht-80, the spokesman said.
After that, a meeting of the mayors of Dushanbe and Moscow will be held and a concert of Russian artistes will be held on the Moscow’s 800th Anniversary Square.
A ceremony of an official closure of days of Culture of Moscow in Dushanbe will be held at the State Tajik Drama Theatre named after Abulqosim Lohouti on June 25.
