DUSHANBE, January 20, Asia-Plus -- Inspections conducted at enterprises in the republic last year have recorded numerous instances of violation of requirements of safety devices, the Labor and Social Security Minister Zokir Vazirov remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe today.
According to him, 1,277 enterprises were vetted across the republic in 2005. At 359 of them, instances of not paying wages to employees were recorded. “A total debt of these enterprises on payment of wages exceeded 15 million Somonis,” Vazirov said. “Due to interference of the State labor inspectorate, more than nine million Somonis had been paid to employees of these enterprises by the end of last year,” the minister noted.
