Tajikistan holds events to mark 20th anniversary of Chernobyl nuclear disaster

’s Government has provided 40,000 Somonis (equivalent to some US$12,500) to hold events to mark the 20
th
anniversary of the
Chernobyl
nuclear disaster, according to information from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The source says that by president’s order a special commission has been set up for arrangement and holding of these events set for April 26.
At present 2,180 participants of the cleanup operation at the
Chernobyl
nuclear power plant in 1986. Of them, 1,250 are 1-, 2- and 3-group invalids. Besides, 180 widows and 1,500 disabled children of participants of the cleanup operation have been registered in
