DUSHANBE , May 19, Asia-Plus - A three-day youth conference of people with sight disabilities from the Central Asian region opened in Dushanbe on May 19.   

Kholmahmad Tengniyev, Chairman of Dushanbe Blinds’ Society, has told Asia-Plus that representatives from the Asian Blinds Union, as well as representatives from youth movements of blinds’ societies from Tajikistan , Kyrgyzstan , Turkmenistan , and Uzbekistan are taking part in the conference’s work.   

According to Mr. Tengniyev, the conference is aiming to consider problems facing disabled people and issues of exchange of experience on work of youth movements of disabled people from the Central Asian region.  

The conference is being held on occasion of a Youth Day, which is marked in Tajikistan on May 23.
