today within the framework of the 4

Convoy of Solidarity and Development of Tajikistan after the Eastern Convoy (Kulma-Khorog-Darvoz-Kulob-Dushanbe) on June 18.
Mr. Luqmon Boymatov, the head of the research department of the “
Silk Road
– Path of Solidarity” National Foundation, has told Asia-Plus that this event is dedicated to the ninth anniversary of a Day of Solidarity. Mr. Boymatov says that besides these two convoys, the third one, Southern Convoy (Shahritus-Qurghon-Teppa-Rudaki-Dushanbe), will start on June 23.
The convoys’ participants include representatives from various cities and districts of the country. “Throughout the entire journey they will hold meetings with population to explain them an importance of the General Peace and National Accord Agreement that was signed on June 27 1997 in Moscow and efforts of the country’s authorities to link the northern, southern and eastern parts of the country by an automotive communication,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
Participants of all three convoys are scheduled to meet with each other on the “Ushtur” pass, where celebrations will be held to mark the Solidarity Day. “After that the convoys will go to the
Rasht
district, where they will hand over a Nation’s Development Cup to the president,” Luqmon Boymatov said.
