DUSHANBE, November 22, Asia-Plus - An OSCE-supported resource center that will provide secondary school teachers with information and advice on gender issues and ways to raise gender awareness opened in Dushanbe on November 21.

“The new center will provide consultations on gender issues and help develop a gender curriculum,” said Graziella Piga, Gender Officer in the OSCE Center in Dushanbe.

“The project, co-sponsored with the Center for Upgrading Qualification of Secondary School Teachers in Dushanbe and the NGO Oilai Ittifoq, is part of the OSCE Center’s efforts to promote gender equality in Tajikistan.”

Sixteen instructors, who have been trained to educate teachers in promoting gender awareness in secondary schools, received their certificates at the ceremony.
