DUSAHNBE, May 8, Asia-Plus - “May 9 was and will remain for ever the holy day,” a message sent by Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ramazan Abdulatipov to the people of Tajikistan and fellow-countrymen said.
“The memory of soldiers of freedom – Russian, Tajiks, Tatars, Uzbeks and soldiers of other nationalities – shown fighting brotherhood during the hard years of ordeal is holy and will live for ever,” the message said.
Expressing gratitude to all participants of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 for Victory, unexampled military and defense deed in the name of peace on the Planet, Abdulatipov noted that their bravery and heroism will never be forgotten.
“We are legatees of this Great Victory, legatees of friendship and brotherhood of the peoples,” said the message of congratulations, “Our duty is to be to true to these great traditions, protect our friendship and solidarity.”
The Russian embassy and military base in Tajikistan are holding events devoted to the Victory Day. A festive meeting, organized by them, will be held at the Opera and Ballet theatre in Dushanbe today evening.
