DUSHANBE, April 24, Asia-Plus -- The CIS Executive Committee based in Minsk, Belarus will host a meeting of heads of bodies for sectoral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere tomorrow, Maria Gutzalo, a spokeswoman for the CIS Executive Committee, told Asia-Plus on Thursday.
According to her, the meeting aims to discuss issues related to a progress of fulfillment of the plan of the basic measures aimed to promote implementation of the CIS further development concept, priorities of humanitarian cooperation as well as directions of further work with the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund (IHCF).
Humanitarian cooperation, which is one of priorities for the CIS member states, covers such areas as culture, education, information, sports, tourism, youth policy, health care, and social problems, the spokeswoman said.
Established in 2006, the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Council (HCC) coordinates activities on the majority of these directions.
