PANJAKENT, June 26, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The public association Khazinai Jam has been set up in the Tajik northern city of Panjakent to support development of the Zarafshon Valley.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Khazinai Jam head Jovid Kholov said that their organization will be sponsored both by local and international donors. “Khazinai Jam will work throughout the whole Zarafshon Valley and its activity will have pilot character,” Kholov said.
According to him, they will carry out explanatory work on problems of hygiene, HIV/AIDS prevention, water sanitary, mother and child health care, enhancement of education and agrarian sectors, disaster risk reduction, etc. “We will train specialists from among local residents that will be able to provide first aid and offer consultations on different subjects,” Kholov said.
He added that one of important components of the Khazinai Jam activity will be to support local farmers. They will conduct seminars and trainings on agriculture development issues for farmers in remote villages of the Zarafshon Valley.
Kholov noted that Khazinai Jam had enlisted the services of skilled specialists with up to 10-year experience of work with international NGOs.
