Dushanbe. 27 August. “Asia-Plus” - From 31 August until 9 September, “Children” operation will be held in Tajikistan.
Dushanbe traffic police spokesperson, Sherafgan Latifov, told Asia-Plus that the operation’s aim is prevention of accidents with pupils and pre-school children involved.
According to the source, a batch of campaign posters is prepared on “Child injuries in road accidents,” which will be distributed in schools.
The source added: “Roads near schools and pre-school institutions will be investigated within the frame of this operation. Traffic police officers will hold classes on traffic rules on the first day of school.”
Furthermore, the source said that teachers will be on duty on roads close to schools, and oversight by traffic police officers will also be tightened.
The source said: “From the beginning of the year 43 road accidents took place where children were involved in Dushanbe, and one child has died as a result of it. 44 children have received injuries of varying severity.”
