Vietnam and Uzbekistan have agreed to promote bilateral co-operation on oil and gas exploration in order to sign a contract on oil and gas exploration in Uzbekistan and transfer coal-to-liquid technology.
The agreement was reached at the two-day meeting of the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Inter-governmental Committee on Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Co-operation which closed in Hanoi on August 21.
In agriculture, Vietnam and Uzbekistan agreed to sign an agreement on the quarantine of plants and an agreement on agricultural co-operation.
During the meeting, the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries signed a co-operation agreement and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and Uzbekistan''s State oil and gas company Uzbeneftegaz signed an agreement on oil and gas co-operation.
