Kazakhstan is interested in expansion cooperation with European Union, said Nursultan Nazarbaev during the ceremony of presenting of credentials by Head of European Commission in Kazakhstan Norbert Justin.
"We are ready to extend our cooperation with EU further. EU has become the leading trade-economy partner of Kazakhstan, the greatest investor at our market for the last time," emphasized the President.
The President noted that Kazakhstan has elaborated the state program "A Road to Europe" with the aim "to guide the relation with EU to the level of strategic partnership, to attract European technologies, investments, experience and to develop the cooperation in the frames of Kazakhstan chairmanship in OSCE in 2010."
"We hope that such relation with European Union will continue," said Nazarbaev.
Besides, the Head of State had received the credentials from archbishop apostolic Nuncio in Kazakhstan Miguel Maury Buendia.
"The relations of our county with Vatican are of special significance for us. We highly appreciate the activity of this See on peacekeeping, the dialogue between the civilization and religions. We are grateful to Vatican for supporting of our initiative in the sphere of dialogue of religions and cultures," said Nazarbaev.
"The first meeting of leaders of world and traditional religions in Kazakhstan was held under the support of Vatican. We hope, that the Holy See will render active support in conducting of the IIId session of leaders of world and traditional religions next year," said President of Kazakhstan.
