The World Bank is deciding whether to grant $5 million to Kyrgyzstan’s energy sector development, Tajikan Kalimbetova the Minister of Finance told the news agency “24.kg”.
The memorandum on financial assistance to Kyrgyzstan’s energy field was signed between the World Bank and our ministry during the recent visit of Kalimbetova to Washington. “The decision will be drawn in the coming days, we hope it will be positive for our country,” the minister said.
Besides, the minister noted that the World Bank has already aided the Kyrgyz agriculture with $6 million as a part of the WB’s general support of $10 million, whereof $4 million was earlier channeled to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
