Kazakh banks must discharge US$ 11 billion external debt. Anvar Saidenov, Kazakh National Bank Head informed about this today after Governmental session.
“There are no defaults and the first payments are to start at the end of January,” Saidenov said. According to him TuranAlem Bank is expected to make the biggest payment that is equal to US$ 3 billion.
As was informed earlier, according to Kazakh National Bank external liabilities of banking sector decreased by 1.8 % or US$ 45.1 billion representing 44.8 % of the gross external debt. The ratio of the external debt to GDP of Kazakhstan was equal to 85.8 % comparing to 92 % at the end of 2007.
