A conference on the involvement of non-state electronic mass media in building civil society was held in Tashkent.
The event, organized by the National Association of Electronic Media of Uzbekistan (NAESMI), discussed the challenges faced by the regional TV and radio stations and non-state media.
It was noted that in 2008 certain results had been achieved in the improvement of the activity of NAESMI and the stations it unites. The stations were equipped with modern information technologies to improve the quality of programs and expand the coverage area.
The processes of globalization and the accelerated exchange of information between the countries and peoples increases the responsibility of the media in objective coverage of events, it was said.
The conference participants exchanged views on raising the effectiveness of projects implemented in this direction, as well as improving the skills of the staff of the regional stations.
