Kazakhstan and Japan will open a flight connection in 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the press service of Ministry of Transport and Communications on April 13.
"Air Astana company is planning to open a flight connection between Kazakhstan and Japan in 2011," said the Minister of Transportation and Communications Abelgazi Kusainov after the meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to Japan Akylbek Kamaldinov.
Kazakh Government supported the project but at the meeting in 2008 Japan refused to sign the agreement. However, after the recent talks in April Japan expressed readiness to discuss the project, Kamaldinov said.
Parties decided to send the project to the Japanese Government for reconsideration, then number of flights and air-routes will be established.
