Construction of fiber-optic network FTTB ("Fiber to the building") in Zarafshan town (Navoi region) was finished.
FTTB project started in Zarafshan in November 2008, "Infocom.Uz" reported on July 8. About 6 500 ports were setup in hundreds of living blocks of the town and more than 40 km of fiber-optic cable was laid in 8 months.
Given network is the largest in the country local data transmission network, providing access to Internet via fiber-optic connection with a speed of up to 100 Mb/s today.
FTTB network allows to connect computers located in different apartments or towns into one group for active exchange of information, video, music, or other files sending, organization of network games, etc.
