President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has appointed his 39-year-old son Serdar Berdimuhamedov as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of the country, according RIA Novosti.
It is noted that specifically for this, the head of state expanded the number of deputy heads of government. Now Serdar Berdimuhamedov will oversee issues of digitalization and innovation in the field of public administration, finance, education and medicine.
The Turkmen leader also introduced his son to the State Security Council, having previously relieved him of the post of Minister of Industry and Construction Production. Previously, only the heads of the military and power departments of the republic became members of the council.
