Citing the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), Kyrgyz media reports say more than 180 public servants have been fired in Kyrgyzstan for links with Kolbayev's gang and Matraimov's corruption scheme.
As part of the fight against organized crime and suppression of possible links of civil servants with members of Kamchy Kolbayev’s organized crime group and Rayimbek Matraimov’s mafia, measures have been taken against some individuals, the GKNB’s press center reported, according to 24.kg.
More than 226 civil servants of various ranks, who reportedly had ties to them, have been exposed, and more than 180 of them have been dismissed:
· 85 employees have been detected in the Customs Service, 76 of whom have been dismissed;
· 26 employees — in the Interior Ministry, 14 have been relieved of duties;
· 6 deputies of local councils gave up their mandates;
· 65 people have been dismissed from district administrations and local government bodies;
· Some employees have been detected and dismissed in other ministries and agencies.
Additional work is ongoing with regard to the remaining detected public servants. Similar work to cleanse the government bodies of unscrupulous employees with selfish goals will continue to be carried out in all spheres of the state, the SCNS added.
