The youth national team of Tajikistan (U-17) took the third place in the championship of the Central Asian Football Association CAFA-2024.

According to the Football Federation of the Republic, Marco Rajini's wards met with their peers from Iran in the match for the third place of the tournament.

The game ended with a score of 4:2.


The main time of the meeting ended in a draw – 1:1. In the penalty shootout, luck was on the side of the Tajik national team – 4:2.

The goalkeeper of the team, Abubakr Rakhmonkulov, deflected two shots from opponents in a penalty shootout and was admitted as the best player of the match.


The team started participating in the CAFA 2024 championship with a victory. The first match against Kyrgyzstan ended with a score of 0:3 in favor of Tajikistan.

However, in the game against Afghanistan, the Tajik boys were defeated, ending the meeting with a score of 0:1.

Recall that in 2023, the youth national team of Tajikistan won the Central Asian Football Championship among under-17 players.
